Enabling a new care experience

Patina was built on a hypothesis: If we could build a new model of primary care for older adults, one that understands and appreciates their priorities and preferences, we could fundamentally transform healthcare and help people enjoy their best lives – whatever that means to them. To do this we’d need to provide primary care that is more personal, convenient, comprehensive and consistent over time.

LaKisha is a day-to-day advocate for her patients, working to provide them the healthcare and aging experience they want and deserve. Fifteen years ago, I helped found an experimental primary care clinic for the sickest Atlantic City casino workers through AtlantiCare. Many were suffering from chronic conditions and diseases and were frequently hospitalized. They were fed up with the lack of progress they were making with their personal health and wellness.
